Help Terry's family with funeral and burial costs

On February 24, 2022, our mom, grandma, sister and dear friend Terry Jones was unexpectedly taken from us in a senseless act of crime.

Terry was delivering newspapers early in the morning when someone stole her purse from within her vehicle. The unknown person(s) got back into their car and attempted to flee; however, Terry began to follow the car and called 911. Upon maneuvering a turn, Terry lost control of her vehicle and hit a tree, causing her to sustain critical life-threatening injuries. Terry needed to be extricated from her car, and first responders performed life-saving measures. However, Terry succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Terry was an employee of the Maui Police Department for over 32 years, and on this unfortunate morning, she was assisting her daughter and delivering newspapers. Terry was one of the cornerstones of MPD as well as its matriarch and tirelessly gave of herself time and time again without fail. Terry coordinated all of the fundraisers in MPD whenever an employee needed help or assistance. She was also involved with the Maui Police Relief Association, Special Olympics, Relay for Life and the Annual Troy Barboza Torch Run.

Terry was always positive, full of life, and had an exceedingly joyful spirit. She was a very giving person who everyone loved. She always supported her friends and family in everything that they did and went above and beyond anyone’s expectations, never expecting anything in return. Her loss is an unfathomable tragedy that her loved ones, co-workers and her community will struggle with for years to come.
