Terry's Journey
On behalf of the Daley Middle School, my name is Stephanie Sodre. As some of you may have heard, our Daley Middle School co-worker and, more importantly, friend, Terry Watterson, has become ill. His colleagues would like to help support Terry's family on this challenging journey. We have taken collections at work but think that this would reach a larger group while at the same time sharing Terry's story.
On December 16th Terry was working after school when he collapsed. He was found unconscious and was taken to Lowell General where he was then med-flighted to Boston. It was discovered that Terry suffered from a ruptured aneurysm and a major brain bleed. Terry has gone through a lot in the last month. He is showing improvements but his journey to recovery is far from over. We would like to support his family in any way we can.
Terry has been a teacher at the Daley Middle School for 23 years as well as an adjunct professor at Umass Lowell. Prior to working at Daley Middle School, Terry was a teacher in Methuen Public Schools. Terry is a very talented teacher and an amazing colleague. His energy and humor at work with both kids and staff are contagious. He is never one to say no to anyone in need, student, staff, or administration.
Besides being a wonderful teacher, Terry is a husband and father first and foremost.
He is a husband to Beth Watterson and together they have two very talented and ambitious kids Abby Watterson and Jodi Watterson.
Although Terry is making strides at recovery it is likely that he will be in the hospital for an extended period of time. After his hospital stay, it is anticipated that he will need extended medical care.
His colleagues are creating this fundraiser to help the Watterson's with medical bills, transportation, household expenses/adaptations, and anything else they may need at this time.
