Help Terry with Unexpected Medical Emergency

UPDATE #1 (Aug. 13th, 2024): Terry will be in neuro trauma ICU for the foreseeable future. The cultures from his spinal fluid is still showing infection growth from the meningitis. He is on the top meds he can be for this and will stay on these meds until cultures stop showing growth which could be weeks or months. He is still showing lessened movement and response on his right side, his left side is more mobile/responsive. Again with his, until the infections stops showing growth we can't get a valid MRI or EEG to show seizures or strokes as the infection does move around in his brain which makes those tests inaccurate. He is still in critical condition at this time. He has been removed from the ventilator and is breathing on his own but that can change at any time. He does make some sounds at times but cannot communicate. All other organ systems are being tested dailt for function and at this time no other organ system is in danger. This can also change at anytime. We will only be able to update his status once or twice a week due to the time frame it takes to do his cultures. Thank you again for your continued support.

Hello. My name is Ross Burgart and I am setting up this page as a resource center for my best friend Terry Rains and his boyfriend Jose. Recently, Terry was rushed to the hospital and is currently still admitted in the neuro trauma intensive care unit. Doctors have said that he has had several mini strokes in both sides of his brain, bacterial meningitis, and possibly seizures. He also has swelling in his spine and brain that is currently being drained. He is currently heavily sedated and fighting for his life.

As this was very unexpected, we are hoping this will help with updates on his condition and help Terry & Jose with medical and household bills as they are currently not working.

Due to the severity of the condition, he could be in the hospital for weeks, up to months. The road to recovery is going to be long, but we have faith he can overcome this with your help!
