In early 2022, Terry L was diagnosed with Stage 2 esophageal cancer. Luckily, it was found early & they were able to do rounds of chemo to shrink the cancerous cells & schedule an operation to remove the cancerous part of the esophagus. Unfortunately, on the day of surgery, the pre-op scan showed Stage 4 stomach cancer, starting a fight for his life. Despite the devastating diagnosis, Doctors were optimistic & started new, more aggressive rounds of chemo right away. This chemo was able to completely cure the esophageal cancer without the need for surgery, however, the Stage 4 stomach cancer had already spread. Doctors remained positive & planned to continue chemo treatments to manage it. Unfortunately, in early November, things took a sudden turn for the worse. Terry has been in the hospital with fluid in his abdomen, called ascites, & almost constant nausea. We are still hoping for the best, & hoping he can get well enough to continue chemo to prolong his life & whatever time he has left on this earth.
Terry is the sole earner & only source of income for the family & with him only getting short term disability payments while he’s in the hospital & unable to work, his family needs a lot of help. We are remaining positive & hope we have more time with him than is expected, but if/when he can no longer hang on, his wife & family will need all the financial support they can get, until they can get on their feet.
Terry has always been the kind to drop what he’s doing to help others in need no matter what. He is truly one of the least selfish people I’ve ever met & I’d love it if his good karma came back around for him. Please keep Terry & his family in your thoughts & prayers.
