My name is Terry Wicker , I'm 66 years old and have had MS for the past 20 years. I have severe Foot Drop due to Multiple Sclerosis (MS). MS is a disease where the body's immune system mistakenly attacks the protective covering (myelin) around nerve fibers in the brain and spinal cord. This damage disrupts communication between the brain and the body, leading to a variety of symptoms like muscle weakness, fatigue, vision problems, and more. I am unable to walk without assistance, and this Mobility device will give me ability to walk without assistance and return to a more normal life.
Foot Drop is a condition characterized by weakness or paralysis of the muscles involved in lifting the front part of the foot necessary for people to walk. It causes a person to either drag the foot and toes or engage in a high-stepping walk called steppage gait. My goal is to raise $3,300 for the Bioness L300 Go . This device stimulates the nerves and muscles
that lift the foot to walk more naturally. The Bioness device is FDA approved, but most insurance companies are denying coverage. The cost is prohibitive for many who see the device as an invaluable opportunity to improve their quality of life.
Terry is collaborating with the Freedom to Walk Foundation (FTWF) a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. They help acquire the devices at a dis ount. Your contribution of $250 and above is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. If you prefer to donate by check, please make the check payable to Freedom to Walk Foundation and mail it to P.O. Box 2815, Riverview, FL 33568. Visit FTWF website for more information at www.FreedomToWalkFoundation.org.
Sincerely,
Terry Wicker
