For those of you who don’t know, on Friday February 1Oth Terry fell down stairs at his home. His head took the fall. He regained consciousness for a short time before the paramedics rushed him to Regions Hospital. Terry went into surgery around 2:20am on Saturday Morning. His surgeon, who goes by Dr. Seuss, had to repair a skull fracture, brain bleed and some broken bones in his face. All in all he was in surgery for over 8 hours when it was predicted to only be 4. Dr. Seuss repaired things that some hospitals would have given up on, for that our family is truly grateful. When the doctor came out and explained to us the extent of his injuries, he also informed us that Terry might not come out of this and if he does it will be a long and hard recovery. As his granddaughter, I think I can speak for the whole family, that at that moment we all dropped to our knees and could not grasp why this was happening. My grandpa is a man that would do anything for his family. He has a soft spot for his grandchildren and especially for his great-grandson. Terry is an amazing grandpa and would jump at the chance to help anyone who asked. As you all now Terry is a taxi driver and Grandma Sam runs a daycare in their home. With Terry not working the bills are going to start piling up. Those of you who know Grandma Sam, know that she would never ask anyone for help, so I will. They are the ones always helping everyone else, even when they are stretched thin. As of right now we do not know if Terry is brain-dead, or if he can even breathe on his own. All I know is that he is strong, stubborn and all around pretty amazing.
