Several years ago, Rev. Terry Gold was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. His doctor put him on Imbruvica which kept him in remission for a long time. He developed prostate cancer in the last couple years and went through radiation and chemo pills to cure it. Last summer/fall, Terry started having trouble swallowing. The doctor said that his throat needed to be stretched. They scheduled that procedure several months out, which happened in mid-January. When the scope went down, they discovered a lump of cancer in Terry’s esophagus. That set off a whole series of biopsies and tests, and they were prepping him for chemo treatments. However, as more test results came back, things changed. Terry’s cancer is stage 4 and there is nothing they can do to cure it.

There are some big events coming up in Terry’s life. He and his wife Beth have their sixth grandbaby due in April and their oldest grandchild graduates in May. Terry and Beth will have their 50th anniversary in May of 2026.

The oncologist has said that Terry can do chemo treatments that could extend his life long enough to see some of those big events. With some patients, it has even worked for 2-3 years. However, these procedures will cost him a fair amount.
