Help Terry fight ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease)

Donation protected
Hi my name is Crystal and this is my dad Terry. If you have had the pleasure of meeting him you know he has the kindest sweetest heart and would do anything for anyone. He is the rock of our family always teaching us how to fix things and fun facts about everything in life. This jack of all trades has done it all !!!
This man has endured a triple bi pass 2019
A heart valve replacement 2019
A conduit repair to his arotic root 2019
A seizure 2021
A thyroid tumor surgery 2023
But nothing could fix his pain - he's still the most friendly man you could ever meet.

Most recently he had to leave his BELOVED job at IATSE (if you are reading this know we've heard all the stories of everyone he's ever talked to, the craft services people he talked to every day, his friends- thier families etc) he truly LOVED working with you all.

Unfortunately, this year we added one more thing to his list of major accomplishments, an ALS diagnosis.
We are thankful to the ALS foundation of Canada and all they have done for us. There are additional out of pocket costs that we will have to help Terry fight ALS.

Any support you could provide would be appreciated we know times are hard for everyone but just trying to give our favourite person at great at making things easier for him as he battles ALS.

Now some of you might be asking what is ALS, I'll tell you.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), formerly known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is a neurological disorder that affects motor neurons, the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement and breathing.

It is characterized by progressive degeneration of nerve cells in the spinal cord and brain. ALS affects voluntary control of arms and legs, and leads to trouble breathing. ALS does not affect intelligence, thinking, seeing, or hearing.

As such he will require things like a power wheelchair, a stair lift, physio therapy, a vehicle that can fit the power wheel chair. We do have support from ALS Canada as I've said above but the out of pocket additional costs are alot for our small family. Both of my parents are fixed income seniors and we do our best but sometimes it's not enough.

Truly thank you for taking the time to read!
Alternatively if you would like to support the ALS foundation. I am participating in their walk in peterborough on June 8th at beavermead Park at 1030 am reach out for more details.
