Help Terry and Sherry Overcome Health Challenges
Donation protected
My name is April Walls and I am coming to you on behalf of Rev. Terry and Sherry Bowling. Terry has been in the ministry for 51 years. Carrying the gospel has been his life's testimony. Along with Sherry, they have preached across the country for years, tirelessly working for the Lord. They both have been very dedicated servants of the Lord; only eternity will tell of the lives that were touched by their ministry. However, through the years, the stress has taken a toll on their health. In January, they were traveling to a meeting when they received word that Sherry's sister was dying. Terry had been sick for a while; his kidneys were failing, but while taking care of the needs of Sherry's family, he collapsed. After rushing him to the hospital and being there for 9 days, they discovered that he could not continue to be on the field, that his kidneys had reached the point that he had to have dialysis for him to live. They have had to sell everything to survive so they could stay put for treatments. His dream of evangelizing is slowly slipping away. Hearts broken, they started pleading for a kidney. He is in dire need of a live donor and has undergone all of the tests that show he is a very healthy candidate for one. He is currently on the transplant list. He has to take treatments every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday; they last for 4 hours and they make him so very sick.
In November, we went to prayer because we heard that Bro Terry had collapsed and they had to resuscitate him. He was on a ventilator and in ICU for several days. The diagnosis was simply, the dialysis was the cause.
Here is where we get to the part that will crush your heart. When Bro Terry collapsed, Sis Sherry frantically was trying to reach him and could not. You see, that day, she could not be with him because she was taking a chemotherapy treatment for her cancer. Yes, Sis Sherry has breast cancer. She was diagnosed in September of this year. She has been so very sick herself. They are in Fredericksburg, VA, living in her sister's home, that passed away at the first of the year, trying to survive. I am reaching out to my friends and family to please help this precious couple. Their heartbeat has been to preach the gospel across the country. They have prayed so many prayers for so many of us. They are both so very sick and they desperately need our help. We can't be there in person, but we can show them how much we appreciate them and come to their aid. A major hurdle of any sickness is the financial burden, and that is where we can help. We can give them some relief of this financial burden.
I am asking my friends and family to please help this couple, even if you do not know them. They are worthy of your gift. They are true soldiers for Christ and need some encouragement. Please consider giving to them this holiday season and let them know we care. There is no amount too small. Also, please keep them in your prayers.
If you want to donate directly to them, you can mail a check to 1 Birch Cir, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. If you cannot donate I understand but please share this Go Fund Me to everyone on you know and on your social media pages.
With my deepest thanks,
