My name is Laura Jarrett and my best friend, Terri Lawall, a compassionate nurse and fellow animal rescuer, lost everything in a devastating Avonmore storm on July 26, 2025. Lightning and flooding destroyed her home's foundation, leaving it unlivable. All her belongings gone. Worst of all, her beloved dog, Penny, and rescue cats, Lily and Luna are trapped in shelter cages, and Terri cries every day, heartbroken, unable to hold or comfort them. These animals are her family, rescued with love, and knowing they're confined without her is tearing her apart.

Terri's always put others first, caring for family, friends, patients, and giving her pets a warm, happy and loving home. Now, she's couch-surfing, basically homeless without her furry family, looking for additional jobs, when she should be retiring.

Terri's insurance company has refused to pay her anything! They reported that it was due to a flood and without special flood insurance they WILL NOT PAY A CENT (everyone please check your home owners if you live in PA). Terri is now stuck paying her nearly $1,000/month mortgage on a house she can't live in any more. It's crushing to see someone so kind in so much pain.

We are raising $75,000 to pay off the mortgage on Terri's unlivable house and replace some essentials like clothes, furniture, and pet supplies to start fresh somewhere safe and reunite her with Penny, Lilly, and Luna. The three will once again be in a safe and loving home.
