Support Terri Lynn’s Stage IV Breast Cancer Fight

I am one year into a two-and-a-half-year “expiry date” doctors have given me for my Stage IV metastatic breast cancer, which has spread to my lymph nodes, rib, and liver. It’s not curable — but I refuse to give up on creating memories, inspiring others, and living my dream life while I can.

For years, I was in pain and no one listened. My family doctor told me I could work, that “psychology students need to be right-minded,” and in her eyes, I catastrophize every situation.

Then I found a huge lump. I delayed going in because I feared her opinion. When I finally went, my life changed forever.

After one round of chemo at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, it turned out they were using the wrong treatment for my ER/PR++ breast cancer. Precious time was lost before the right approach could even begin. I’ve always been known for my messy bun, but during that time, my hair was falling out in clumps — a daily reminder of this fight.

I am now focused on quality of life — caring for my mom, being present for my son Aiden, and making the most of the time we have together. Part of this means getting my Honda Pilot back on the road, so I can get to treatments, appointments, and create lasting memories with them.
