Help Terri and Children After Mike’s Unexpected Passing

My name is Carrie Cognitore. I am the cousin of Terri Campbell, who has been married to Mike Campbell for close to 25 years. Mike has been a Metro Detroit reporter for close to 30 years and most recently was a reporter and Saturday morning anchor for WWJ NewsRadio 950.

On Sunday, June 8th, 2025 the unthinkable happened. A week after his 65th birthday, Mike unexpectedly passed away due to a suspected heart attack leaving his love ones devastated and gutted. Terri & Mike were soulmates. They lived for each other and family was everything to them. Mike’s memory will live on in the stories he told, the family he nurtured, and the numerous lives he touched.

Mike & Terri have 8 children with 4 still living at home or attending college. Of the ones still living at home; Brendan is 22, Kaleb is 20, Nicky is 19 and Jordan is 17. Brendan, Kaleb, and Nicky all attend Mike’s alma mater, Northern Michigan University. Jordan is a senior in high school.

The sudden loss of Mike has had financial repercussions as well. While dealing with her immense grief, Terri has to plan for a life with 3 children in college & one heading there in the future on a single income. As well as pay for an unexpected funeral.

As much as Terri did not want to ask for financial assistance , people have been asking where they can donate to help with funeral costs and educational expenses for the children. With her blessing, I have set up this fund on her behalf. All funds raised will go directly to Terri. Thank you!
