Hello everyone,

My name is Terrell, and I’m a 57-year-old self-employed massage therapist living in Boston, Massachusetts. My income supports not only my living and business expenses but also helps my aging mother in North Carolina. Unfortunately, earlier this year I suffered a serious injury that has kept me out of work for three months and created a financial hardship I can no longer manage on my own.

On the evening of March 5th, 2025, I had an accident that tore both my quad tendon and patella tendon in my right leg. The injury was so severe that I couldn’t extend my leg at all and needed surgery, which I finally received on March 21st. I wasn’t able to start physical therapy until May 14th, and during that time my leg was immobilized in braces. I couldn’t bend it, walk normally, or leave my third-floor apartment (which has no elevator).

Since May 31st, I’ve been slowly returning to work while continuing physical therapy. My surgeon estimates that it could take up to a year to regain full mobility, though my therapist says I’m making good progress.

Despite doing everything I can, the three months without income have caught up with me. I’m now several months behind on rent and bills, both personal and business-related. I also need to move out of my current apartment by November, but due to my limited mobility, I can’t lift or carry heavy items and will need to hire movers.

At this point, I need to raise $30,000 to stabilize my situation and get back on my feet. Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward:

* Overdue rent and bills

* A new apartment and moving expenses

* My mother’s mortgage and property tax payments
