Help Terra Heal from Breast Cancer

Last October, my dear friend, Terra Christoff was diagnosed with a rare, very aggressive type of breast cancer with a rapidly growing tumor (if you’re familiar with cancer terminology, it’s a Triple Negative Stage 3C, inflammatory breast cancer that has spread to her lymph nodes). It is extremely fast-growing and has a very high mortality rate, even with aggressive treatment.

Understandably, this has profoundly altered Terra's entire life—including her ability to continue to generate income from her coaching business, and she has incurred a large amount of medical expenses, which has taken a toll on her and her husband’s life savings. Her husband has also stepped into a caregiving role, severely impacting his earning ability.

The high costs of medical care were due to the initial refusal of the insurance company to cover the costs of lifesaving treatment and diagnostic work (MRI’s and PET SCAN) needed to help diagnose the issue and then help Terra to survive the chemotherapy treatments, which, though showing up valiantly, her body has not received well.

Since starting chemotherapy she has had extreme and constant nausea, vomiting multiple times a day, making it impossible to eat and resulting in dehydration. She has tried every natural supplement and medication to treat it, and nothing has worked. She has lost 50 pounds, is extremely fatigued, and even has difficulty walking. 

This is a far cry from the person who used to have boundless energy, volunteered for causes she believed in, and ran a successful business helping women entrepreneurs grow their businesses and make a difference in the world. 

She is relying on a team of healing and oncology professionals to support her journey.  After chemotherapy, she will receive a mastectomy, immunotherapy, and radiation therapy. She’s also taking a regimen of medications and supplements to help alleviate her symptoms and boost her immunity, as well as receiving acupuncture, energy healing, IV therapy, physical therapy, nutritional counseling, and psychotherapy.  

Both Terra and her husband are quickly exhausting their life savings, having spent more than $70,000 in the past six months overall. Life-threatening diseases can easily result in hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical bills and are the leading cause of bankruptcy in this country. 

And that is why I’m here, asking for you to support Terra by donating to this GoFundMe campaign.

Terra’s work on this Earth is not done; she has shown time and time again that her gift is to lift others—to guide women in doing their work to make this world a better place.

Still, she has a long road ahead of her and needs all the support she can get in her healing sabbatical (doctors expect the treatments to last at least 6 more months). 

I believe that easing her financial burden will help her to give her peace of mind and allow her to focus on healing, so she can get back to sharing her gifts and making this world a better place for others.

We all know that cancer can happen to anyone. But when it happens to someone we care about, it’s a profound reminder that everyone needs a village of support while facing it.
