Help Teresa Recover from a Devastating Accident & Medical Crisis

Hi, my name is Teresa, and I’m reaching out to ask for your help during one of the most difficult times in my life.

On May 24, my world turned upside down. I was T-boned by an uninsured, unlicensed driver while doing deliveries. Though the accident wasn’t my fault and I had full coverage, I’ve been left with no car, no income, a fractured sternum, and now the threat of homelessness.

What Happened:
I suffered a fractured sternum, which is extremely painful and takes months to heal.

My vehicle was totaled and is now set to be auctioned off.

Because I was driving for DoorDash, my insurance company denied my claim — something I didn’t know could happen. I had no idea I needed an additional “rideshare” policy, and now I'm left with nothing.

I'm now two months behind on rent, and my landlord is losing patience. I've lived in this rental for nearly 10 years and simply cannot afford to lose it.

My Situation:
I’m currently unable to work while I recover.

Social Security has been approved, but it won’t begin until the end of August.

In the meantime, I have no income, growing medical bills, and essential living costs I can’t cover.

I’m also undergoing testing for new thyroid and adrenal gland nodules, which could potentially be cancer-related — just less than two years after surviving breast cancer.

I am doing everything I can — seeking assistance from local agencies, food pantries, and friends giving me rides to medical appointments.

My Hope for the Future:
I’m working on launching a nonprofit consulting business to help other nonprofits fundraise and survive during tough times. This will allow me to support myself long-term and give back to others. I already have a client ready to start at the end of August, which gives me real hope — if I can just make it until then.

What I Need:
$4,000–$8,000 to cover back rent, utilities, food, medical expenses, and possibly a used vehicle to regain independence.

Help keeping my phone on, water and electricity running — the basics we all need.

Any support to help bridge the gap until late August.

I’m not one to ask for help easily, but this situation has left me no choice. Your donation — no matter how small — can be the difference between stability and homelessness, between continuing my healing and falling through the cracks.

If you can’t donate, please consider sharing my story. I am deeply grateful for any kindness you can offer.

With love and hope,
Teresa
