Help Teresa Make It Through Surgery & Recovery

Hey all. The universe has decided to do a funky remix on Teresa’s life again. Two hops this time!

In all seriousness, though…As most of you know, Teresa was recently diagnosed with uterine cancer. I honestly can’t believe she has to go through this again. But here we are. If you know Teresa, you know that she is the kind of friend who shows up for all of us. If you don't know her, allow me to explain. See, Teresa doesn’t simply show up…she shows up with enthusiasm and energy, and with all of her love. She has gotten through some of her darkest moments by making us all laugh - at her expense. Whether it's posting a silly video about chemo - or an upcoming surgery - she uses humor to get us through it, because ultimately - while Teresa is certainly worried about herself, sometimes I think she's even more worried about how her situation might be affecting us - her cherished friends and family.

Teresa works hard every day. Unfortunately - her job doesn't offer medical insurance and she makes just enough to not qualify for Medicaid. She has purchased medical insurance through 'Insurance Marketplace' for herself and her daughter,.. but the out of pocket costs for testing and treatment is adding up quickly. Friends, she is facing some substantial financial struggles right now. She has already had to pay out of pocket for the tests that she needed before surgery, which caused her to miss a mortgage payment. Medical costs are piling up quickly. And it's affecting her ability to just live her normal life. She is unable to afford basic necessities and she hasn't even has surgery yet. Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow... August 27th…and she will have to be off of work for 4 to 6 weeks at minimum, and we won’t know what she’s facing as far as further treatment until the surgery is done and they can run more tests.

So what I’m asking is for you to show up. Show up with the same enthusiasm, energy, and love that she has shown for us and help our girl out. If you can’t donate, please share. Share this post, share a meal, share your company. Teresa needs us right now…let’s do this!!!!!
