Help Teresa Get the Best Breast Cancer Treatment!

A warm and affectionate greeting to all. My name is Temis and I want to share my mother's story, Teresa, a woman who I admire as a great mother, grandmother, friend and hard worker.

 

Years ago we moved to the United States and once my husband and I were settled, we were able to bring her as well. This allowed me to build my career as she helped take care of my kids. She also got her own home and found a job that allowed her to live independently. She became an active member of our community and we were so happy and hopeful about our family's future.

 

Unfortunately, last year my mother started feeling pain in her breasts and other parts of her body. I kept telling her it was because she was working so hard, but she started to feel worse and I could see the exhaustion in her face. In November 2021 she underwent some medical examinations, including a biopsy that was so painful for her that I had to bring her to my home to take care of her. The last thing I could have imagined was that she would be diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer that was already metastasized in the ganglia of her left arm. She has triple negative breast cancer, which is considered aggressive because it grows quickly, is more likely to have spread at the time it's found and is more likely to come back after treatment than other types of breast cancer.

 

Though we were all devastated with this news, my mother is strong, brave and has a lot of faith. She has been researching the best treatment options, but they are expensive and she needs our help. She's also unable to work during this time and will need help covering personal expenses. Our goal is to raise $150,000 to cover medical and living expenses.

Un cordial y afectuoso saludo para todos. Mi nombre es Temis y quiero compartir la historia de mi madre, Teresa, una mujer a la que admiro como una gran madre, abuela, amiga y por ser trabajadora.

Hace años nos mudamos a los Estados Unidos y una vez que mi esposo y yo nos establecimos, pudimos traerla también. Esto me permitió construir mi carrera mientras ella ayudaba a cuidar a mis hijos. También consiguió su propia casa y encontró un trabajo que le permitió vivir de forma independiente. Se convirtió en un miembro activo de nuestra comunidad y estábamos muy felices y llenos de esperanza sobre el futuro de nuestra familia.

 

Lamentablemente, el año pasado mi madre comenzó a sentir dolor en los senos y en otras partes del cuerpo. Seguí diciéndole que era porque estaba trabajando muy duro, pero empezó a sentirse peor y pude ver el agotamiento en su rostro. En noviembre de 2021 se sometió a algunos exámenes médicos, incluida una biopsia que le resultó tan dolorosa que tuve que llevarla a mi casa para cuidarla. Lo último que podía haber imaginado era que le diagnosticarían un cáncer de mama en etapa 3 que ya tenía metástasis en los ganglios de su brazo izquierdo. Tiene cáncer de mama triple negativo, que se considera agresivo porque crece rápidamente, es más probable que se haya diseminado en el momento en que se detecta y es más probable que regrese después del tratamiento que otros tipos de cáncer de mama.

 

Aunque todos estábamos devastados con esta noticia, mi madre es fuerte, valiente y tiene mucha fe. Ha estado investigando las mejores opciones de tratamiento, pero son costosas y necesita nuestra ayuda. Tampoco podrá trabajar durante este tiempo y necesitará ayuda para cubrir sus gastos personales. Nuestro objetivo es recaudar $150,000 para cubrir los gastos médicos y de manutención.
