Help Teresa Deras Fight Cancer & Save Her Home

Hello, my name is Micaela, and I am reaching out on behalf of my dear friend Teresa (Hartin) Deras, a force of nature in New Mexico, who is facing the battle of her life.

Teresa has been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, which has metastasized to her liver and bones and she is currently undergoing her third round of chemotherapy. She had part of her colon removed which requires that she use a colostomy bag. Her doctors are hoping that this round of chemo will buy her some precious time. Unfortunately, they don't believe she has long to live, less than a year.

In 2021, Teresa started a new job in Albuquerque, only to be let go two weeks later when she received her devastating diagnosis. Since then, she has been struggling to pay her medical bills, afford her colostomy supplies, and make her house payments. Her home is now threatened to be sold by Flagstar Mortgage in mid-to-late August if we don't take action.

Teresa's last wish is to spend her remaining months at home with her loving husband and her beloved cat. To help make this wish come true, we are aiming to raise $15,000 through this GoFundMe campaign. These funds will be used to cover her medical expenses, colostomy supplies and house payments, allowing her to focus on her health and enjoy the time she has left with her family and friends.
