Help Teresa Breathe Again: Support Her Lung Transplant
Donation protected
That’s my sister, Teresa. My big sis. You know, like everyone, she’s had her ups and downs. She’s made mistakes and celebrated victories.
First and foremost, she is Christian. She loves Christ fervently and won’t hesitate to tell you why. I love that about her. She’s a devoted and loving wife, momma of 5, and mamaw to 12! Honestly, it makes me tired just typing it (haha). As a recovering alcoholic, she’s now dedicated her life to helping others overcome their addictions as well as leading people to Jesus through her own very strong faith. She’s come a long way, on a super bumpy road.
Now, on a new path, she’s encountering a new challenge. Teresa has Progressive Pulmonary Fibrosis, a subset of Interstitial Lung Disease. The progression of the fibrosis has advanced, as has the scarring on her lungs. The scarring leads to breathlessness and reduced lung function. She travels to Duke University located in NC monthly, and her doctors say the lung transplant she needs will require relocation for 6 months for care before and after surgery. Teresa is standing strong in her faith in God and maintains optimism and hope for her future. Fundraising has begun with bake sales and other endeavors locally, but she was advised she would need roughly $20,000 for the relocation expenses for her double lung transplant. We are hopeful that this campaign is successful enough to put a big dent in that goal. A T-shirt fundraiser has also been initiated to help.
Would you consider helping to get my courageous sister new lungs?
Thank you so much for taking the time to read about my sweet sister. We pray you will consider becoming a part of the fight to get my big sis her lungs. We appreciate you so much. Thank you and God bless you.
