Hi all,
Recently my family has been on the receiving end of some really bad news: my 34 year old Aunt Teresa -- the youngest of my mom and her 12 siblings -- was diagnosed with breast cancer. As you can imagine, it has impacted my family greatly... Especially because we have already lost a family member to this illness before, and are terrified. We aren't really sure where to begin.
We had just moved past my Grandmother's stroke a few months back (which she thankfully recovered from beautifully) but this just feels like a punch to the gut. To be completely honest at this moment, we still really don't know what our next move should be. What we know for sure, is that Teresa needs us. She's the single mother of 2 beautiful children (Omar, 11 & Kiara, 12) and can no longer work to provide for them. We aren't really sure what kind of money this is going to cost, but we know so many of our friends have already expressed a want to help as much as they can.
We are a big family but this is a bigger fight than any of us could have predicted; she is staged to begin her first Chemotherapy appointment this coming Tuesday (1/21/2020) and because she has no insurance, we really would love to know we are working to take some of the financial stress off of her shoulders.
All that you help with will be used solely for my Aunt's treatment, and to provide funds for her little family now that she is unable to work and has been scared over her children's well-being.
And if you can't provide financially, please hold her high in your prayers. Whatever you pray to, whatever positive energy you have in you... send it our way.

Recientemente, mi familia se enteró de que mi Tía Tere está gravemete enferma a causa de cáncer en el seno. Como se pueden imaginar, esto rápidamente sé convirtió en una de las cosas más difíciles que hemos pasado. Mi Tía Tere es la bebé de 12 niños y a sus 34 años, nunca nos imaginamos que la más pequeña de todos nosotros fuera la que se enfermería de esta manera ya que Teresa es una estrella fugaz, y su energía es contagiosa y maravillosa.
Teresita ama de todo corazón a sus dos niños (Omar de 11 y Kiara de 12) y no queremos ni pensar cual será la vida de ellos sin su Mamá. Como Mamá soltera, ella jamás se da por vencida; pero por culpa de la enfermedad su Doctor le exijo que dejara su empleo. Sin poder trabajar y sin aseguranza médica, nos imaginamos que la cantidad de dinero va a ser bastante alta... Pero cada dólar es bienvenido ya que nos gustaría saber (antes de que empiece su Quimioterapia) de que ya estamos recaudando fondos monetarios.
Y si no puede ayudar con dinero, por favor mantengan el nombre de ella en sus oraciones. Mándenos su buena energía... Muchas gracias.
