On Tuesday morning (1/23), our beloved Tere Branson was found by Stephen unresponsive in their Coos Bay home. She suffered a devastating Intracranial hemorrhagic stroke with multiple subdural and subarachnoid hematomas. She was quickly evaluated and flown to OHSU in Portland where she had an emergent decompressive craniotomy.
Teri survived the extensive surgery that resulted in half her skull removed to allow for brain swelling. Unfortunately, her neurological activity is very limited and slowly improving. She remains unresponsive (without any sedation) and is unstable in critical condition in the ICU.
While Tere and Stephen have family in the Portland area, they have more family and friends throughout the country praying for her survival. They love the Coos Bay community where they have lived for over 30 years.
Teri has always been the pillar of strength for others, offering support, kindness, and love - now Tere and Stephen need our support.
I am her niece and humbly reach out to help Stephen and Tere through the anticipated financial devastation this will produce from the flight, surgery, hospitalization, rehabilitation and skilled therapies. Stephen is staying in Portland to be near Tere.
Your contribution to this GoFundMe will make a significant impact.
While Stephen appreciates the calls and prayers, we want to allow him the time to process and support Tere. We will use her Facebook to communicate updates as well as this platform. Her sister Sandy will be monitoring.
With gratitude,
Lara & family
