On Sunday evening, I called an Uber to take me to the store, just a short distance from my home. As we left, a burgundy Jeep pulled out of my apartment complex and began to follow us. At first, I thought it was just a coincidence, but soon it became clear that the car was intentionally following us. My Uber driver and I tried to get away, but the Jeep chased us down, eventually leading us onto the highway and into Kansas. As we exited, the car started shooting at us. I was shot five times and we crashed. I am now in the hospital, fighting for my life, with air in my lungs and still recovering from my injuries.

I just moved into this place in late February, hoping to build a safe home for my kids. Now, after this terrifying attack, we don’t feel safe at all. My kids are scared, and I don’t want to go back to our apartment. We have nowhere else to go, and I’m desperate to find a safer place for us to live. I don’t have a phone or much support, and this situation has left us feeling lost and vulnerable.
