My name is Kym, and I’m sharing this on behalf of my dear friend Tera, who needs our help more than ever.
I met Tera about a year ago when I started working part-time at Leo’s. From the moment I met her, I saw her strength and resilience — even though life had already handed her more heartbreak than most could bear. She lost her son to murder, and her daughter has struggled deeply since losing her brother. Yet through all of it, Tera showed up every day, working hard as a waitress, greeting everyone with a smile, and giving her best no matter how hard things were.
Last week, tragedy struck again.
Tera fell down a flight of stairs and broke her neck in three places. She is now paralyzed from the neck down and lying in a hospital bed, facing a long and uncertain road ahead. She was accepted into a Mari free bed in Grand Rapids for rehab rehabilitation.
Doctors say she will need full-time care when she comes home. They are thinking approximately 4 weeks.
Tera has no income right now and is terrified of losing her home — the one place that’s been her comfort and stability through everything she’s endured. To be safely cared for at home, she will need major accommodations including:
• A wheelchair ramp
• A walk-in shower
• A hospital bed and home care equipment
• Ongoing caregiver support
• Help with basic bills and living expenses while she adjusts to this new reality
Tera has always been the one who gives — even when she had little. Now it’s our turn to lift her up.
Please, if you can, donate whatever you’re able to help Tera stay in her home and receive the care she needs. Every dollar makes a difference. And if you can’t give financially, your prayers and shares mean the world.
Let’s come together to surround her with love, faith, and hope.
God is still in the business of miracles — and we’re believing for one for Tera.
