Help Tennent Simpson- Medical expenses
Donation protected
If you have been to the pool at the Decatur-Dekalb YMCA in the last 12 years then you probably know Robert "Tennent" Simpson. He was the King of Daytime Guarding! We've all had some troubles this summer but Tennent has had more than one can handle. After leaving the YMCA in late July, Tennent started his dream journey to Maine and during his travels his car broke down. He decided to postpone his move up North and return home to Decatur and lifeguard until the Spring. His Y family was very excited to have him back on the stand doing what he does best.
Last weekend Tennent was walking on the sidewalk and was hit by a car. An ambulance transported him to Atlanta Medical Center. He was immediately taken in for surgery, where he was treated for a broken hip. He spent 4 days and 3 nights in the hospital recovering.
Now comes the hard part. Tennent depleted his savings when he purchased property in Maine. He is penniless, can no longer work, lives alone with 2 dogs, and a broken hip. In addition he has to worry about the expense of his medical bills as he no longer qualified for health insurance and has zero income. He will be out of work for at least 6-8 weeks. His friends decided to start a gofundme page to help him get through this crisis.
We are asking for donations to cover living expenses as well as any medical expenses he incurs. Any amount would be greatly appreciated. It takes a village!
