Help tell the story of Bob McAdam

Bob McAdam is the owner and operator of Sugar Rays boxing gym, a ferocious fighter in his own right, and a warm-hearted man with a desire to create an inclusive sense of community for those who enter his gym.

In 2023, Bob was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Always the fighter, Bob has met this new challenge with everything he’s got, and has managed to maintain his loving and upbeat attitude. Despite his ferocity and positivity he knows he’s losing this battle.

Bob reached out to local filmmakers to capture the remaining chapters of his life and showcase his commitment to a philosophy of mind over matter. His hope is that anyone who sees this film will be inspired to light that flame within themselves and to continue to fight for their goals, whatever they may be.

The documentary will follow Bob all the way to the end, which may include a medical intervention, ending his life on his own terms. He wants people to see that even when you know you’re going to lose, it’s still worth it to fight for your life with everything you’ve got.

This will be an intense journey, and the team wants to make sure it is done justice. To accomplish this, they’ve realized they need some additional funding to ensure total focus can be given and quality achieved.

The funding will go towards labor, production, editing, extra crew for more intense days, equipment, travel costs, music composition, and finding distribution to get the word out to as many people as possible.

We want to honour Bob, to show the world who he is with the care that he deserves, and we also want to help him to help others who are suffering through similar circumstances.
