Hello everyone, I would like to introduce you to someone who means the world to me, my oldest sister; TeKisha Goodwin. I would first like you all to get to know her the way that I do. Kisha is a sister, friend, mother, grandmother, wife and advocate. She is smart, talented, beautiful and often the comedic relief of any and every situation. She has always been a giver in her work and personal life and has a huge heart to help others in any way that she can. I have watched her give without acknowledgment, volunteer, and sacrifice for those she loves and those that GOD placed in her path. She has worked with families and children her entire career and has assisted clients in need utilizing her personal resources anonymously.

 

My sister has suffered from Nephrotic Syndrome since she was a teenager, a disease that severely breaks down the kidneys. In 2019, after a week-long stint in the ER, they diagnosed her with End Stage Renal failure. End Stage Renal failure does not have a cure, only treatments to include dialysis or transplant. I have watched her undergo several methods of treatment and hospitalizations over the last three years. Being codependent on a machine for 8 hours, 4 hours or hospitalized for weeks at a time is not a good quality of life. This all stems from a recent Lupus diagnosis, which if it had been treated early would not have resulted in ESRF. But she still pushes forward through the pain and flare ups. She has suffered quietly and is patiently waiting for a transplant. I am asking that you help her with donations to be ready for her Kidney transplant. She has done everything that she can do to be ready while still working full time and continuing her treatment through her pain. I have watched this disease change my sister mentally and physically in drastic ways, yet it never stops her.
