In 2013, I flunked out of college after the passing of my great grandmother, who raised me. The heartbreak and grief made it impossible for me to continue, and I never went back. Recently, I was accepted to re-admit to FAMU, but I have a balance that must be paid before I can register for classes. With the holidays and my current financial situation, I simply can’t afford it on my own.
Paying off this balance will allow me to register for classes for the spring semester and finally finish what I started at the best HBCU in the nation. I am a mother to an incredible eight-year-old boy who inspires me every day. He recently won first place in a spelling bee, was acknowledged by the president for his achievement, and will be skipping the second grade because of his intelligence. My son is my motivation to return to school, earn my degree, and set the bar high for his future. I want to change my life, build a career, and show him the importance of perseverance and education.
I am very humbled and grateful for any support. I pray that everyone who helps will be blessed for being a blessing to me. Thank you in advance for your support and love. Your kindness will make a real difference in my life and my son’s future.
