Help teenagers escaping the war in Ukraine

Hello, my name is Polina Burshteyn. I am raising funds to help four teenagers that are fleeing the war and terrible war crimes in Ukraine.

I’m an immigrant from Ukraine and currently live in Chicago. Unfortunately, my closest friend Svetlana is still there. Sveta is from Chornomorsk, a city near Odessa. She has 2 kids, a 9 and 18 year old. Last year, her husband passed away from COVID which complicated things because he was the only income provider in the family. Recovering from losing her husband and needing to provide for her children, Sveta started part time work as a psychologist. However, everything came to a stop with the start of war in Ukraine.

Recently, Sveta and her daughter Sasha made the difficult decision for Sasha to evacuate to Germany with a few close friends in hopes that they’ll be able to start fresh and create some sort of a life for themselves, one that’s not full of war. Now, Sasha, Kate, Olya, and Dima (who are all 17-18) are driving through Europe, bravely making their way to the final destination. A friend in Düsseldorf has set up living arrangements for them, but they’re going to need a lot of help to get on their feet. While I can send some money for gas and food for now, it simply isn’t enough. Please give these four teenagers a shot at life. Whether it's $1 or $200, anything helps.
