Help Teena fight cancer!

Hi, my name is Meghan Maxwell. I started this fundraiser to help support my mother-in-law with her medical bills and treatment plans.

 

Teena went to the emergency room during the first week of October. She was having persistent headaches and some tingling in her left arm and just wasn't feeling like herself. When she was admitted they did a CT scan and an MRI. The results came back indicating there was a large mass in the lower left side of her brain. The next step was to remove the large mass. After a long surgery we received some gut wrenching news. The biopsy revealed that the five inch mass was cancerous, very aggressive and terminal. The diagnosis was a (PNET) Medulloblastoma. It's typically found in pediatric patients and only 1% of adults get this. They gave her one year to live, at most.

 

She had three major surgeries within one week. After some recovery time in the ICU she was placed in the step down unit followed by being placed into a rehab facility. Her stay at the rehab facility was cut short. She was only in there for 14 hours and then placed back into the hospital due to a low white and red blood cell count. She was given a blood transfusion and is currently in the step down unit and stable. Everything has been very touch and go these past few weeks. Despite every obstacle being thrown Teena's way, she continues to impress the doctors by her tenacity and strength to fight this cancer.

 

Teena is a very strong woman. She's a wife, a daughter, a sister, a mother, a grandmother and a friend to anyone she comes in contact with. She's a light in all of our lives. When she was told her diagnosis, without hesitation she exclaimed she was ready to fight! "She's a fighter". It is her wish to fight this cancer as long as she can. She wants to have as much time with her husband, two sons, grand kids and family as long as possible.

 

Teena's husband is a former marine sniper. He's gone above and beyond for this country. Teena and her husband Leon are very involved with giving back to the veteran community and to anyone who needs help. You would never know it though, as they are not ones to boast about their good deeds. Now they are the ones who need help. They would never in a million years ask for it though. That's why I'm making this fundraiser. They need help financially with medical bills and for her treatment plan.

 

Once she regains some strength in the rehab facility. She has to start aggressive chemo treatment ASAP.

I ask that you please consider donating to help out Leon and Teena. The last thing anyone should have to worry about during these times is a heavy finical burden. I would like to also ask that if you are a spiritual person please pray heavily over Teena. Our family believes in God's miracles and the power of prayer.
