My name is Tee Stanley aka Tee hyphen and I’ve been cutting hair for years — not just as a profession, but as a passion, a way to connect with people, and a way to give back to the community.
A while ago, my barbershop was shut down due to a tragic police incident that had absolutely nothing to do with me. Unfortunately, the situation forced my doors to close abruptly. Overnight, everything I worked so hard for was gone.
Instead of giving up, I pivoted. My background in music opened unexpected doors, and I was blessed with opportunities to work as a role manager for one of the most iconic groups in the world, through my connection with Eric Sermon. I also had the honor of working with Killer Mike at the famous Swag Shop Barbershop Arena in Edgewood, Atlanta.
I humbled myself and worked everywhere I could — from Walmart barbershops to small neighborhood shops in New York, Atlanta, Chicago, and everywhere in between. Every chair I sat behind taught me more about resilience, perseverance, and community.
Now, by the grace of God, the chance to reclaim my shop has come back around. I wasn’t expecting it, I wasn’t prepared for it, but it literally fell in my lap. This is my opportunity to return to my neighborhood, rebuild what I lost, and create something lasting — a safe, positive space where people can come together.
But I can’t do this alone. Reopening requires resources, and financially, I need help to make this blessing possible. That’s why I’m reaching out to my community, friends, and supporters.
Your support — no matter how big or small — will help me reopen this shop and make it more than just a barbershop. It will be a hub for culture, mentorship, and positivity in our neighborhood.
Thank you for believing in me, for standing with me, and for helping me turn this setback into a comeback.
