Help Teddy, Joe's ESA, Overcome Cataracts
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kim. My husband Joe and I have a beautiful little boy named Teddy. He was a rescue 10 years ago from a puppy mill and has since been trained as an ESA for my husband, who has PTSD from his time working at Ground Zero on 9/11 and after.
Teddy is now 10 years old and has suddenly developed cataracts in both eyes in a matter of months. Doctors have said he is too young to have developed them. Pre-operative testing and surgery will cost us about $10,000.00. As my husband is now very sick from his time during 9/11/01, I am the primary income in our home, and we cannot afford to give our pup his sight back.
I am embarrassed that I need to ask for help, but I don’t know what else to do. Teddy is trying to navigate his way, but it is heartbreaking watching him walk into things. My husband is despondent because Teddy always watched out for him, and he feels like he is failing Teddy by not being able to fix his eyes. I am worried about them both.
Thank you for any help that you can afford.
