Help Teddie Fight Cancer

UPDATE: First of all, we want to thank everyone who has donated and helped by sharing Teddie’s story with others, we really appreciate your help! We have some great news to share with you: back in July we decided to take Teddie to Mexico, so that he could get his diagnostics and treatment there. Although the entire process still wasn’t cheap and lasted three months, it definitely costed us way less money than it would have if we decided to proceed with treating him here in Canada. On October 2 Teddie completed his last round of treatment, and he is now back home with his brother! We still have to continue taking him to the vet in the near future to monitor his health, but as of right now, he is very calm and happy. Once again - thank you to everyone who was able to help us out, it truly means a lot to us!

Dear friends and kind strangers,

Meet Teddie. Teddie has been a beloved member of our family for 10 wonderful years (him and his brother recently celebrated their 10th birthday on May 1st of this year). He is a very sweet and affectionate cat, just like a real teddy bear. His loud purrs and happy drools are a testament to how sweet and joyful he really is.

Over the years, Teddie has faced many health challenges, including high blood pressure, diabetes, and a heart condition. With determination and love, we’ve always managed to provide for his medical needs, ensuring he gets the best care possible. As a result, his diabetes has been in remission for the last 3 years and his heart condition had stopped progressing as well.

Recently, we had to take Teddie to the vet, as he started showing some symptoms of a nose infection. After having his examination, undergoing an X-Ray and running blood tests, it was determined that Teddie most likely has cancer in his nasal area (it is yet to be determined exactly which type of cancer it is).

Needless to say, this news has been heartbreaking. Despite his illness, Teddie remains very playful and active, not showing any signs that he knows he’s sick. He still enjoys his favourite churus, and loves to be petted.

The cost of Teddie’s further diagnostics and treatment that was quoted to us by an oncologist is extremely high (between $16,000 and $24,000), and unfortunately, we are reaching a point where we cannot afford it on our own. We need to raise additional funds to cover the necessary procedures and medications to give Teddie a fighting chance.

We are also currently looking at treatment options abroad, which could be cheaper, but in the end it would still be a large amount of money.
