My name is Christina Grigoratos, and I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of my brother-in-law, Theodore (“Ted”) Stylianou, his wife Mary, and their son Jerry. In October 2024, Ted was diagnosed with sporadic, limb-onset ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), a rare and progressive neurological disease that attacks the nerves controlling voluntary muscle movement. Since his first symptoms appeared in February 2024, Ted has faced every challenge with courage, humility, and quiet strength — but this disease is relentless, and he cannot face its financial impact alone.
We are seeking to raise $100,000 to support Ted’s growing medical and caregiving needs. These funds will go directly toward home care assistance, accessibility modifications to their home (including ramps, stair lifts, and bathroom adaptations), mobility aids and assistive devices, an accessible vehicle for safe transportation, and ongoing medical expenses and therapies that are not fully covered by insurance. A portion of the funds will also be donated to ALS organizations and clinical programs actively working toward better treatments and a cure, including ALS United, the Johns Hopkins Neurology Department (where Ted is enrolled in a clinical trial), and the Mount Sinai ALS Clinic.
Ted has spent over 30 years serving others through his work at JPMorgan Chase, and a lifetime putting his family, friends, and community before himself. He is a devoted husband to Mary, a dedicated and loving father to their 16-year-old son Jerry, and a steady, caring presence to all who know him. He has never been one to ask for help—but today, we are asking for him. Your donation, in any amount, will help ease the heavy financial burden on his family and give Ted the comfort, dignity, and support he deserves as he continues his fight against ALS
