My name is Theodore Shifflett, but most people know me as Ted or Theo. For over 30 years, I’ve been a barber, and I’ve loved making people happy one haircut at a time. I’ve always tried to help others, whether it was giving free haircuts to those who couldn’t afford them or lending a hand whenever I could. Now, I find myself in a position where I need to ask for help.

Recently, on my way to work, I was in a serious accident. I suffered eight broken ribs and a collapsed lung, and I had to have four of those ribs plated with titanium—27 screws in total. I also had a tube inserted for drainage and injured my leg, resulting in a partial ACL tear and significant bruising. Because of these injuries, I can’t cut hair until I’ve healed, which means I have no way to earn an income right now.

Without being able to work, I’m struggling to pay my bills, including rent, electricity, and food. Any funds I receive will go toward these essentials, as well as medical bills and rehabilitation so I can get back on my feet and return to the work I love.
