My name is Ted SIrota and I am raising funds to help cover end of life home health care for my Mom, Glenda Sirota. After my Dad died at the age of 85 in April of 2025 my Mom's health began to rapidly deteriorate. My Mom moved into my apartment in October. She lives with me in hospice care now. She is bedridden and has not walked since the day after she moved in. Because of our financial situation, and the state of the healthcare system in the United States, our situation has been a nightmare for the past three months. The care we are supposed to be receiving has not come, and the help that was provided by the state was worse than useless. Right now we have an absolutely wonderful caregiver helping with my Mom, who we are paying daily, out of pocket. We have reached the end of our financial rope as a result of the lack of assistance from the state. Every day I improvise and try to figure out a way that I am going to be able to take care of my Mom. It is incredibly emotionally and physically draining.
Right now what we need is to raise money so that I can pay our caregiver Melba $100 a day to help take care of my Mom, change her diapers, and help me so I can continue to try to make enough money to pay rent, bills, and food. At some point, the state will provide a new caregiver/homemaker, but I have no idea when that will be. I waited three months for them to return my consistent phone calls. If we can raise $2800 we will know that my Mom will have someone, beyond me, to care for her for the next month. Melba is only here for four hours when she comes, so the other 20 hours a day are solely my responsibility. If my Mom has touched you in a positive way in your life please consider making a donation. If you are someone that would like to see my Mom die with some dignity, please consider donating. I have had no help at all from family. It's just me and my Mom.
