Hello my name is Ted Dale and I was recently diagnosed with Prostate Cancer.
I have successfully undergone extensive chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment with a fairly positive prognosis, but the impact of this health issue has left me extremely weak.
I started my PE teaching career in 1977 and worked for 20+ years in that roll across three different schools before taking the opportunity to go full time in the game with Chelsea FC.
At Chelsea I was lucky enough to work alongside some of the world’s best known players and coaches.
When my time at Chelsea ended I became the Global Director of Coaching at The David Beckham Academy heading up the programme in London and Los Angeles.
My final stint in full-time employment was with The Football Association working out of their base at St George’s Park where I held the role of Senior National Coach Educator with specific responsibility for overseeing the National UEFA B programme.
Consequently, I believe I have gained a significant depth of knowledge and experience around both coaching and playing the game.
Prior to the cancer diagnosis I was still able to work practically on the field however, the impact of the treatment has, at least for the short term future, made it impossible for me to continue this type of work.
It is obvious to me that the most valuable assets I possess revolve around the knowledge and experience I have gained over the last 48 or so years in the game and the most effective way available to me is to ‘sell my brain’ via a subscription (low cost) based website.
The costs of getting this venture up and running are not insignificant hence I am asking for people to kindly donate towards helping me to offset these costs.
I have listed below where I anticipate any raised funds would be put to valuable use (all figures quoted below are estimated and allow for a ‘buffer’ amount)
- 1. Set up and first year hosting costs = £1000
- 2. Purchase of unique ‘Domain Names’ = £250
- 3. Annual website management = £1000
- 4. Purchase of a quality laptop that has the capability to cope with a host of video recordings = £2800
- 5. Purchase of a quality video recorder and associated equipment = £1500
- 6. GoFundMe commission fees £250-£500
- 5. Annual Zoom subscription = £200
It goes without saying that I would be extremely grateful for any contributions that you might be able to make.
Many thanks for your consideration.
Kind regards
Ted Dale
