Help Bring The Girl in the Woods to Life with a Professional Edit
Hi everyone,
I've written a novel called The Girl in the Woods. It’s the story of Liz—a fierce, isolated young woman raised in a violent household deep in the Redwoods, surrounded by war-haunted brothers, survivalist silence, and a town that fears her family. It's a psychological and emotional exploration of trauma, memory, and resilience. A story about protecting innocence, even when the world tells you it doesn’t belong here.
This novel is personal. It’s hard-edged and human. It leans into the emotional complexities of PTSD, isolation, and identity while giving voice to a character the world might otherwise overlook.
Now, it’s time to make this story shine.
I’m seeking to raise $1,300 to cover:
A full professional developmental and line edit (to enhance pacing, structure, and emotional depth)
The Girl in the Woods is already over 70,000 words and deeply layered. It deserves professional eyes to bring out its strongest form—one that readers can not only connect with but carry with them.
If you believe in the power of stories that don’t flinch from truth... if you've ever met a character who stayed with you long after the final page... I hope you'll consider supporting this project.
Any amount helps. And even if you can’t donate, sharing this campaign with fellow readers, writers, and advocates for women’s stories would mean the world.
Thank you for reading—and thank you for helping Liz’s voice reach the world.
With deep gratitude,
Ted
