Very recently and unexpectedly, Ted fell ill and was seen in the ER. After completing a series of tests, he was immediately admitted to the ICU and diagnosed with stage four hepatic organ failure.

He was then transferred to Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit for further evaluation, and within a week and a half, he was listed immediately for a life-saving donor organ.

After Ted's insurance is exhausted, the cost for the organ transplantation and hospital care is estimated to be upwards of 1.2 million dollars. Ted's out-of-pocket expenses after insurance coverage are 20 to 25 percent of the transplantation and hospital care costs.
