On January 21, my younger brother Todd went to the ER for a sudden seizure, where an MRI revealed a lime-sized tumor in his brain. Two weeks later, he had an awake craniotomy at Duke University, where the devastating diagnosis was confirmed: Todd has Grade 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme, the most aggressive form of brain cancer.
Todd is a devoted husband and a present, fun-loving dad—playing basketball with his son, going on treasure hunts with his daughter, and chasing his youngest around the house in wild games of tag. His sole focus is on fighting for more time with his family.
Todd, Marissa, and the kids relocated from Virginia to North Carolina for 6 weeks to support Todd through daily chemotherapy and radiation at UNC. The next step is a 6-week clinical trial and 6+ months of heavier chemo. Despite these treatments, GBM almost universally recurs-- often within a year. Many treatments at recurrence are self-pay and require travel to wherever treatments are available. Quick action at that time is essential.
As you can imagine, the physical, emotional, and financial burdens are immense. If you’re able, we humbly ask for your support. No amount is too small. Every donation helps toward medical, travel, and family expenses and gives the family space to focus on what matters most: Todd’s healing and time together.
If you’re not in a position to give, sharing this page and keeping Todd and his family in your prayers means more than we can say.
Thank you for surrounding Todd’s family with love, hope, and support during this fight.
