Help Team Raise Hell, Praise Whale Build Their Soapbox Car!

Help us raise $1,000 to build our car for the 2025 Red Bull Soapbox Race, Utah!

Out of 460 submissions, our team was one of 44 teams selected to participate in the 2025 Red Bull Soapbox Race, Utah on Saturday, June 14 at the Utah State Capitol! The event is open to the public and all ages!

As a group, we were deeply inspired by the sculpture, Out of the Blue by Stephen J. Kesler (2022), and the following it has amassed in our 9th and 9th community. Out of the Blue is a full-size sculpture of a humpback whale that appears to emerge from the cement roundabout, an unexpected surprise, much like the 9th and 9th area. Out of the Blue has inspired many, including community organizations such as the Church of the Sacred Whale. As a community organization, Church of the Sacred Whale believes in the protection of personal freedoms in our community, especially our queer community, and that all humans have a duty to act as stewards of the natural world, caring for our environment and all of its creatures. This inspiration has led us to champion the message of our beloved 9th and 9th Whale at the Red Bull Soapbox Race in June.

Our current budget puts us just over $1,000 for the car fabrication parts, construction of the Whale, and costumes for race day. Any and all donations will go to covering these costs, and if we are somehow able to exceed $1,000, we will donate any additional funds to the Utah Pride Center.

If you're able to donate any amount at all, you will receive a glowing shoutout on our Instagram page! If you're able to donate $50, you'll get a signed team photo and a handwritten thank you note from our team. If you want to donate more than $50, wow, we won't stop you!
