After 20 years trying to conceive & 17 miscarriages (11 natural losses and 6 IVF losses) Jami & Leroux Redman welcomed on April 15th miracle baby Hannah, who was born with bilateral renal agenesis, or no kidneys… if things couldn’t get harder for this family, Leroux (dad) was diagnosed with leukemia two weeks ago…

Our wee miracle has turned 3! She has reached a massive milestone to get her lifesaving kidney transplant. She is finally 10 kilos, so the evaluation process can begin. With transplant come a lot of financial expenses between Dr. appointments, travel to and from the hospital and countless meals in the process of eval, transplant, recovery and post transplant travel/appointments. We are currently awaiting for news from the transplant team to begin evaluations. Hannah has recently faced another massive challenge. Her superior vena cava is severely occluded due to blood clots in the vein. Possibly caused by her portacath. The prognosis and the treatment plan is unknown at this point. Hannah, despite everything continues to thrive. She’s taking more independent steps in walking. She can count to 10. Knows all her colors and recognizes the alphabet. She is talking verbally more and signing less. Unfortunately we have lost OT and PT providers due to a change from private insurance to Medicare/Medicaid. We still have speech therapy tho and it is going well. Hannah is a very smart and determined “little” (huge) miracle. Mom and dad continue to care for Hannah full time. With all her medical challenges it does take both of us daily. Neither of us are able to work outside the home. And the work we are able to accomplish from home is limited. We are exhausted. Mom is still exclusively pumping to feed Hannah as it’s the main base of her daily feeds. Slowly she is tolerating more and more puree and Kate farms renal formula. Hannah had an anaphylactic reaction to milk and one other feeding option. Therefore her food options are extremely limited. Please continue to Pray for our little warrior. We have Faith in what Jesus can and will do for her. She is covered in His blood.

Hannah’s Story:

Hannah has been a fighter since day one: doctors said 6 hours of life was all they would get and here she is making medical history at 8 months old! A little warrior & medical miracle who’s survived 181 days at the NICU, withstands daily dialysis, & is one of the 15 survivors nationwide with bilateral agenesis - no kidneys- who will continue to fight and have daily dialysis and medication until she is old enough to have a kidney transplant…

They regulate blood pressure, produce a hormone to signal bone marrow to produce red blood cells, filter toxins from the body, convert vitamin D into a usable form of D and so much more. They are a valuable and intricate pair of “beans” within the organ systems of the body. God truly created a masterpiece when He created man from dust.

Hannah is a true testimony to the goodness of God. The fulfillment of years of prayers. The miracle that is a dream come true for Leroux and I after countless heartbreaks and 17 losses.
