Help Team Buckets Inc start off their program

Hi! I am Mugsy Green, and I am raising money for the basketball program; I founded in May, Team Buckets Inc.

I grew up in Douglass Houses on the Upper West Side, where I started my basketball journey playing in local tournaments as early as the age of 6. From the age of 10 years old until I finished College, I played for the NY Gauchos (Bronx), one of the premier AAU team in the city, with who we won many championships and I received MVP tittles.

I spent my high school years at La Salle Academy, I played with Ron Artest, God Shamgod and Eric Chatfield. In 1997, we won the city championship and I was an All-City Player. In 1998, I went to San Jacinto (JUCO in Texas) where I stayed for two years. During the season 1999/2000 we won the State tittle and I received the MVP trophy. I graduated from Manhattan College (Riverdale, NY) after playing for two years with the Jaspers and being an All Division during both seasons.

After College, I spent 9 years playing professional in Portugal, Switzerland and France. Shortly after returning to New York, I worked with the Harlem Children Zone for 7 years teaching the children the game of basketball and flag football.

I created my program to share my knowledge of the game and help our youth access high school and college scholarships. Teaching the skills of the game and leadership, communication, and teamwork would be valuable for the rest of their lives. I want to show our youth there is more than street life and help them focus on positive things.

This is why I am running this summer from June 28th until July 28th (3 days a week), a free summer camp for the players on the team and other children who would like to join. I want to be able to provide drinks and food to the kids attending the camp at least once a week and eventually every day!

I am also putting my two teams (10U and 12U) in several tournaments across New York for the summer. They then can apply what is being taught to them and have fun playing in an actual game situation. I need to cover the tournament and referee fees.

This program means a lot to me; because of my experience and what I have been through, I need to help the kids and let them know there are different routes to achieve their dreams and their goals in life. I want them to understand the importance of school and how far it can bring them in life. I want to help them see the bigger picture!

This is my ultimate goal, and I want to do it at a minimum cost for the children. For all of that to be possible, I need your help! Every dollar counts! I am grateful and appreciate your support!
