Help Team AL Reach National History Day

We are Team AL and we are raising money to attend the National History Day Contest in College Park, Maryland in June. We competed on April 28 in Ames, Iowa at Iowa State University, and our projects were selected to attend the prestigious contest starting on June 8, 2025.

National History Day (NHD) is a nationally acclaimed, academic enrichment program that promotes the study of history in our schools. National History Day does for history what the Science Fair does for science. Each year, students like me create exhibits, documentaries, performances, websites, and papers about a topic that is related to the annual NHD theme. This year’s theme is “Rights and Responsibilities in History.” We researched the Meskwaki Settlement in Iowa, the 6888th Combat Postal Battalion from World War II, and Spain’s Anti-fascist “Social Revolution.”

We found out so much about history because of National History Day. We competed at the regional level in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and at the state level in Des Moines. We are in need of your help to go on to the National Contest. Our participation in the National History Day Contest depends on whether we can raise $4500 in sponsorships. (The contest housing is $600 and travel to Washington, DC will be $900 for each of us.)
