Last Friday, on her 29th birthday, Teal was struck horribly by a vehicle while crossing the street. Initially her injuries were identified as life threatening, but we are unutterably grateful to report that she is going to pull through. At the moment, her medical team have confirmed a broken pelvis, broken arm, cervical spinal fracture, broken ribs, bruised lungs, and a concussion. Despite it all, she is awake, finally out of the ICU, and our ray of sunshine is being as strong as we knew she would be. However, this road to recovery is going to be long, painful and uphill battle all the way through. Teal will not be able to work at all in the coming months, and she is hoping to make it home to her family in Alberta for extra support and care. She has months of rehab and physio ahead of her, and the cost of living in Toronto, as you likely know, is a nightmare. Teal is currently using much of her limited energy to stress and concern herself with how she will afford this accident and recovery.
