Hello, my name is Jacqueline Bird, and I am fundraising for my best friend Teagan Schuman and her amazing mom Cathie.

In 2018, Teagan's dad Cary was diagnosed with Early Onset Dementia. It's an uncommon form of dementia that means symptoms begin before someone reaches the age of 65. However, it also means that when the symptoms do begin, they progress very rapidly. Over the last four years, Cary suffered the rapid decline that this disease entails. Devastatingly, Cary left this world on the evening of February 2, 2022.

In recent years, the Schuman family has relied on some of Cary's government income to support the family. Now that they are no longer receiving that income, it is up to Cathie and Teagan to bear the burden of the bills of daily life, on top of preparing for Cary's end-of-life memorials.
