Hi, my name is Tea.

I'm possibly best known for being the editor of trans voice teacher Renée Yoxon's Youtube channel and I am a trans woman living in Canada. I'm asking for your help in being able to afford top surgery (breast augmentation) and possibly a tracheal shave to help with my dysphoria. (And Renée has generously offered to match donations for a certain amount of the total, and provide a discount on their courses for those who donate, more below.)

I'm in my mid thirties and have been transitioning for about 10 years now. While I wouldn't claim to have had the worst trans experience, it has been challenging. I have had to temporarily de-transition early on due to bad medical care, I've been extremely unlucky with hair removal due to having unusually resistant hair, etc. And 10 years into my transition I can no longer tolerate "waiting and hoping something happens", if it was going to happen it would have happened, so I am finally trying to access surgical help which previously I thought would always be unattainable.

I am a working artist and I am so lucky to get to make content for other trans people as part of my professional life, but I come from a working class background, got through school on student loans (still paying those off) and don't live in a part of Canada where these kinds of surgeries are covered by any public support. Over the past few years I have saved basically all of my extra income and have managed to put together about 10,000 CAD towards my surgery goals (which I am extremely proud of), but that is still just 2/3rds of the average cost of a breast augmentation. My dysphoria has only been getting progressively worse, which has been affecting my personal and professional life and resulting in frequent depression and burnout. Not to mention making it a challenge seeing myself in the mirror or outside of clothes.

To this end, Renée has been extremely generous in pledging to match the first $2,000 CAD of donations through their business!
