On December 22nd, 2025, I took my male cat Taz to Rozzie May’s Cat Cab for a routine neuter. The procedure seemed to go well, and I brought him home that afternoon. But within a few days, I noticed Taz wasn’t himself—he wasn’t eating or drinking much, and his usual playful energy was gone. Then, one morning, I woke up to find him with a severely bloody nose, a swollen face, and constant sneezing. I rushed him to Broadview Animal Hospital in Dover, where he was prescribed medication and we were sent home, hoping for improvement.
Despite the medication and steam room treatments, Taz’s condition didn’t improve. After more consultations, the vets diagnosed him with feline leukemia—a heartbreaking and contagious illness. Taz is an indoor cat, and none of my three cats had any health issues before this. Now, another one of my cats has also contracted the condition, and we’re facing another round of vet visits and treatments.
Between the mounting vet bills, the holidays, and my son’s birthday, we’re in a financial bind. But my cats are my world, and I can’t let them suffer. Asking for help isn’t easy, but I know I have to do whatever it takes to get them the care they need. If you’re able to help, even just by sharing our story, it would mean everything to us. Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
12/31/25 update: I first want to rank everyone for their donations thus far we were able to bring Jasper in for his appointment and first round of medication! We went back to broadview and it seems their vets are in disagreement. First we were told it was a viral infection. Then we were told on 12/29/25 that it was feline leukemia. Today the other vet that was in said it would be to early to tell if it’s feline leukemia or not and now they want to run testing on both boys 3 weeks from today. This adds even more financial stress to us as each test cost $700 each and more medication. Both cats are currently on medication with no signs of improvement yet. Our fur babies mean the world to us and we simply don’t want to surrender them and say good bye over this very unexpected illness. We truly appreciate every single donation and share. Thank you!
