Hi, my name is Suzanne Smith...little sister of the biggest best brother David Smith, who is the Mayor of Taylor, Arizona. David loves his town, family & friends and is always willing to help with a project. He is also a business owner so he's self employed. For those of you who don't know, unfortunately Covid caught up with David and he was admitted to Summit Healthcare on October 9th very sick. He ended up on a ventilator and in a medically induced coma for a few weeks fighting for his life then needed a tracheotomy to continue to help him fight. After 4 long weeks at Summit he was taken by Air Ambulance to the valley where he was transferred to another hospital who could give him the care he needed. He has now been in the hospital for almost two months and will soon need to be moved to a rehab center where he will continue to fight to get better and get home. Our family wants nothing more then for him to be home for Christmas but we are also very happy that we still have him with us. He is now breathing on his own with a little oxygen to help and can communicate and wants Pepsi but will have to work up to that. While David fights to get better his sweet wife Monica and their two daughters are commuting three hours each way to spend time with him, and his son in California commutes when he can. They are also working their own jobs and trying to keep David's business alive. They do have insurance but we would like to help them with their deductible as well as expenses for traveling, lodging and food as well as monthly bills that just keep on coming.
