My name is Taylor and I'm making this in regards to My dad that has been in the ICU since Friday, and our family is going through one of the hardest moments of our lives. He is currently intubated and sedated while doctors work to stabilize him. We recently learned that he suffered a minor heart attack and has been diagnosed with COPD and pneumonia, which has made his condition very serious.

The doctors have told us that if he doesn’t show improvement within the next few days, they may need to perform a tracheostomy to help him breathe long-term. We are holding onto hope and praying for his recovery, but the uncertainty has been overwhelming.

At the same time, I’ve had to step into the role of managing everything at home while my mom stays by my dad’s side at the hospital. As the oldest sibling, I’m doing my best to keep things together for our family, including caring for my 4-year-old son.

Unfortunately, I recently lost my job after missing too many days during this emergency, and I didn’t qualify for FMLA due to not being employed long enough. This has put us in a very difficult financial situation on top of everything else we’re facing.
