Hi everyone,
Yesterday was one of the scariest days of my life. My kids and I were in the car when we were hit by a train. Just typing that still doesn’t feel real. One second we were crossing, and the next, everything went black and loud. By the grace of God, we are all okay — no one was physically injured — but emotionally and mentally, it’s something we will never forget.
My kids were terrified, and I’m still shaking thinking about how much worse it could have been. I’m so thankful I took the precautions I did and reacted as quickly as I could, because it could’ve been catastrophic.
Unfortunately, the car and only car we have is unsafe to drive. Nothing will be covered at this time— no repairs, no replacement, no help. My car was my only way to get my kids to school, get myself to class (I’m a full-time college student working toward a better future for us), and get to work so I can support my family. Now, we have no transportation at all.
I’ve always tried to handle things on my own, but this time, I’m really struggling. Between school, work, raising my kids, and now trying to figure out how to move forward after this accident — I’m at a loss.
We are starting this GoFundMe to ask for help to:
-Get a reliable replacement vehicle
- Cover transportation costs in the meantime (rides, gas money, etc.)
- Help with basic needs as I get back on my feet
Even if it’s $5, it truly helps. And if you can’t donate, sharing this post means more than you know. Every share, every kind word, every prayer — it all matters.
I’m so thankful my kids are safe. That’s what’s keeping me going right now. But starting over feels impossible without a little help.
Thank you to anyone who takes the time to read this, share, or donate. From my heart — thank you for caring about me and my kids during this time.
